Code of Ethics: Professional Integrity & Independence

Last Updated: March 3, 2026

At AECO.digital and the AECOverse, we operate at the intersection of critical infrastructure, high-stakes capital, and emerging technology. Given the seniority of our contributors and the technical nature of our research, we adhere to a strict ethical framework to ensure absolute transparency and professional alignment.

1. Professional Boundary & Employer Disclaimer

AECO.digital is an independent research and media initiative. To protect the integrity of the industry and the professional standing of its contributors:

  • Individual Capacity: All insights, technical validations, and strategic frameworks published on this platform represent the personal research and professional opinions of the authors alone. They do not represent the views, strategies, or official positions of our respective employers or affiliated organizations.
  • Separation of Proprietary Data: We do not utilize, reference, or disclose any non-public methodologies, proprietary project data, or internal firm intelligence. Our research is derived strictly from public market signals, independent sandbox testing, and industry-standard benchmarks.
  • Non-Competition: AECO.digital does not provide billable engineering, architectural, or professional consulting services. We do not bid on infrastructure projects or compete for clients with established AECO consultancies.

2. Technical Validation & Editorial Independence

Our forensic software reviews and ecosystem mappings are purely editorial and research-driven.

  • The “No Pay-for-Play” Mandate: We do not accept remuneration from technology vendors in exchange for positive technical ratings or “Readiness Scores.”
  • Objective Methodology: Validations are based on the testing of commercial licenses, publicly available documentation, and standardized interoperability schemas (e.g., IFC, OpenBIM).
  • Research Autonomy: We maintain final authority over our proprietary scoring models and the technical logic used to interpret market signals.

3. Data Stewardship & Intellectual Property

In an era of rapid digital transition, we treat intellectual property and user data as a sacred trust.

  • Original Synthesis: All content is the result of original R&D or the high-level synthesis of public industry trends.
  • Respect for IP: We respect the proprietary rights of software providers. We analyze “market-facing” impact and system performance—never “under-the-hood” trade secrets.
  • Data Sovereignty: We prioritize the digital safety of our community. We do not sell user data to vendors, nor do we permit invasive third-party tracking on our platform.

4. Transparency in the “Great Migration”

As we facilitate the transfer of knowledge between Big Tech and the Built World through the AECOverse:

  • Educational Mission: Our objective is the elevation of the industry’s “Digital IQ.” We are a research hub for career transition and technical literacy, not a commercial recruitment agency.
  • Systemic Health: We prioritize the long-term resilience and safety of the built environment over short-term technological hype or “vaporware.”

5. Conflict Mitigation & Accountability

We are committed to radical transparency. If a potential conflict of interest is perceived, we invite rigorous professional dialogue. Our mission is to bridge the gap between technology and infrastructure through clarity, not by obscuring professional boundaries.
