Our Mission

Cutting Through the Noise.

AECO technology is evolving faster than any one person can track. New tools launch weekly, startups raise millions, and platform giants acquire rapidly. In this environment, professionals building our world are overwhelmed by vendor pitches, aggregator rankings, and contradictory information. AECO.digital exists to be an independent, evidence-based filter.

Objective Analysis

A reliable, editorially independent filter for a fast-moving industry — drawn from verifiable sources, not vendor-supplied materials or sponsored placements.

Connecting the Dots

We synthesise funding intelligence, tool reviews, and standards updates into a single cohesive picture of where the industry is heading.

Editorial Integrity

Most evaluation platforms are shaped by commercial partnerships. We provide a rare, practitioner-led perspective with full methodology disclosure and no vendor influence over scores.

What We Solve

Four Pillars of Research. One Platform.

Every technology shift in AECO comes down to four critical areas of inquiry. We built this platform to address them through systematic, evidence-based research.

🔬

Which Tools Actually Work?

We conduct independent tool assessments using a standardised five-dimension scoring framework — drawing from vendor documentation, practitioner feedback platforms, and live product evaluation. Reviews are transparent, methodology-first, and fully published, including scoring criteria and limitations.

🚀

Where Is Innovation Happening?

We track emerging startups and map global venture capital dynamics. Our research identifies the technologies shaping the industry’s future, providing the AECO community with visibility before these shifts become mainstream news.

🎯

How Does the Industry Integrate This?

We move beyond reporting trends to analyze the “Path to Integration”. We publish research frameworks and conceptual blueprints that evaluate real-world timelines, resource benchmarks, and the technical challenges of deploying tools in complex environments.

🗺️

Where Does This Fit in the Ecosystem?

We monitor industry giants, standards evolution, and global policy. We research how emerging tools align with Autodesk, Procore, and ISO standards—and how market acquisitions reshape the future of the digital stack.

Our Four Pillars

The Architecture of Our Research

Everything on AECO.digital is organised around four distinct research pillars — each with a focused mission, a published methodology, and a clear purpose for the AECO community.

01
Independent Tool Reviews

The Vetting Lab

“Neutralizing the Innovation Tax.”

Purpose

Evidence-based, independent assessment of AECO software through a standardised five-dimension scoring framework — AEC Workflow Fit, User Evidence, Vendor Stability, Tech Integration, and Value Transparency.

Key Goal

Identify where tools perform and where they fall short — drawing from verifiable sources including vendor documentation, practitioner feedback platforms, and live product evaluation. Every review includes a score on a 100-point scale and a rating band from Recommended to Not Recommended.

02
Startup & Investment Tracking

The Engine Room

“Engineering the Industry’s Connectivity.”

Purpose

A high-utility research hub for the startups, venture capital, and talent migration driving digital transformation across AECO—tracked continuously to identify emerging trends.

Key Goal

Map the startups, VCs, and technical roles actively building a more interoperable built environment. Identify the 5% of technologies showing genuine industry resonance.

03
Strategic Analysis & Industry Frameworks

Intelligence

“Bridging the Gap Between Demo and Reality.”

Purpose

Strategic analysis, industry frameworks, and weekly briefings that translate complex technical shifts into clear, conceptual roadmaps for the sector.

Key Goal

Move the industry conversation from watching trends to understanding integration pathways. We provide blueprints, not just think pieces—designed for the practitioners building the future.

04
Giants, Standards & Global Events

The Ecosystem

“Navigating the Macro Landscape.”

Purpose

Continuous monitoring of the industry’s power structures—platform giants, regulatory bodies, standards organizations, and the global events setting the agenda.

Key Goal

Provide a strategic compass ensuring the community understands the standards, power players, and macro forces shaping the construction industry toward 2030 and beyond.

We Show Our Work. Every Time.

Independent doesn’t just mean we’re not on a vendor’s payroll. It means we disclose every relationship, publish every methodology, and stand behind every finding — even when it’s inconvenient.

  • Standardised Scoring: All reviews use a published five-dimension framework. Scores are derived from research and domain expertise — never vendor-influenced or sponsored.
  • Full Transparency: Commercial partnerships are fully disclosed on every relevant page. A sponsored tool with flaws still shows those flaws — clearly and fully.
  • Integrity of Scores: Tool scores are never modified in exchange for business relationships. Paid reviews use identical methodology to independent audits.
  • Verified Sources: Findings are drawn from vendor documentation, G2/Capterra practitioner feedback, and live product evaluation — not curated demo accounts.
  • Editorial Firewalls: Editorial decisions are made independently from business development.
  • Methodology Disclosure: Review criteria, scoring dimensions, and rating bands are published at aeco.digital/vetting-lab/methodology/
Our Core Principles

How We Think. How We Work.

🔍

Independence

Not funded by vendors. Our findings are ours alone. We disclose conflicts, publish methodology, and stand behind every analytical review — without exception.

📊

Rigor

Opinions don’t scale. We benchmark systematically, validate data, and measure technical performance. You get evidence-based conclusions — not hype dressed up as analysis.

Actionability

Reading should lead to understanding. Every piece of content is built to inform the industry. Industry Frameworks, not think pieces. Integration Blueprints, not just trend reports.

🎯

Clarity

We write for smart people in a hurry. Every review, briefing, and guide is distilled to its essentials. No jargon. No filler. Just the signal that informs better industry perspectives.

🌍

Connectivity

Insights are more powerful when connected. Tools → Funding → Frameworks → Standards. One integrated research system. A complete picture. Smarter perspectives, faster.

🤝

Transparency

We show our work. Review criteria are public. Partnerships are disclosed. You know exactly how we reach every conclusion — and what our research limitations are.

The Person
Behind the Platform

PhD · IWE · PMP · PE

AECO.digital was born from a specific observation during my two decades as a structural engineer and innovation leader: the technology shaping our industry is often reviewed by those who haven’t navigated the complexities of a live project environment.

I have led digital transformation and implemented BIM, AI, and Digital Twin workflows on global infrastructure projects across three continents. That practitioner experience is the lens through which every review, briefing, and analysis on this platform is written — grounded in the realities of live project delivery, not vendor demos.

The AECO industry deserves independent research that is evidence-based, editorially autonomous, and technically grounded. That is the mission of this platform.

Alongside AECO.digital, Marcin founded AECOverse.com — a community-led ecosystem mapping the career landscape for AECO technology professionals. Both platforms share the same objective: fostering a technically grounded and better-informed AECO technology community.
