At AECO.digital, we provide independent intelligence for the built environment. Because we audit others for data sovereignty, we hold ourselves to the highest global standards. This policy outlines how we collect, protect, and use your data.
1. The Data We Collect
We only collect data that helps us provide better AECO intelligence.
• Account Information: Email and professional profile (e.g., job role) for newsletter subscribers and Registry members.
• Assessment Data: Responses provided during the Digital Maturity Assessment. This data is anonymized for industry benchmarking unless you explicitly request a personalized report.
• Technical Data: IP addresses and cookies used strictly for site functionality and security analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
• Intelligence Delivery: To send you the Weekly Briefing and technical playbooks.
• Research & Benchmarking: We aggregate anonymized data to create industry-wide reports on AECO tech adoption. Individual firm data is never sold or shared.
• Global Compliance: To ensure our platform remains compliant with international trade and data sovereignty laws (GDPR, CCPA).
3. Data Sovereignty & International Transfers
In alignment with our Global Gatekeeper pillar:
• GDPR Compliance: For our European users, we ensure all data processing meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation.
• Data Residency: We strive to minimize cross-border data transfers. Where transfers are necessary (e.g., cloud hosting), we use providers that maintain SOC2 and ISO 27001 certifications.
4. Third-Party Audits & Independence
A core pillar of AECO.digital is independence.
• We do not allow “tracking pixels” from AECO startups or software vendors on our platform.
• We do not sell your contact information to the vendors we audit. Our “Vetting Lab” reports remain objective and uninfluenced by third-party data tracking.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access & Export: Request a copy of the data we hold on you.
• The Right to be Forgotten: Request the permanent deletion of your account and assessment data.
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from any intelligence briefing at any time via the link in our footer.
6. Export Control & Legal Disclosure
As we track sensitive technology (including ITAR/EAR related data in our Engine Room), we may be required to disclose information if legally compelled by federal authorities under international trade laws or for national security purposes.
