Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using AECO Shield ("Platform", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.

2. Platform provided as-is

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Platform is at your own risk.

3. Not legal or regulatory advice

ACS scores, FitScores, and all Platform outputs are independent research and editorial assessments — not legal advice, regulatory approval, or a guarantee of compliance with any law, standard, or regulation. Scores reflect publicly available evidence at the time of assessment. Always consult your legal counsel, insurance advisors, and licensing authority for specific project compliance requirements.

The Platform does not constitute professional engineering advice. PE licensure decisions, stamp placement, and responsible charge determinations remain the sole responsibility of the licensed professional.

4. ACS scores are independent research

All ACS (AI Compliance Score) scores are produced from publicly available evidence: vendor documentation, Terms of Service, published case studies, third-party review platforms, and AEC industry knowledge. Vendor relationships and payments never influence published scores. A tool that fails the 7-layer framework receives a low score regardless of any commercial arrangement.

Scores may be updated when new evidence becomes available or when a new methodology version is published. Historical scores are retained for audit purposes.

5. Subscription and billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis via Stripe. Pro ($149/user/mo) and Firm ($799/mo) include a 14-day free trial — a card is collected at signup and the first charge is on day 15; cancel any time during the trial and no charge is made. Vendor listings ($199/tool/mo) are billed immediately at signup with no trial. Enterprise plans are governed by separate order agreements. Buyer tier pricing is subject to change with 30 days notice. Refunds are not provided for partial months. You may cancel at any time via Settings › Billing (Stripe-hosted portal); access continues until the end of the current billing period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, or redistribute ACS scores or registry data without written permission.
• Use Platform outputs to make procurement decisions without independent professional verification.
• Misrepresent ACS scores or FitScores in marketing materials as regulatory certifications or legal compliance guarantees.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or interfere with Platform security or scoring systems.

7. Intellectual property

All ACS methodology content, scoring rubrics, Platform design, and editorial assessments are the intellectual property of AECO.digital. You may reference published ACS scores with attribution. You may not republish scores in competing commercial products without a licensing agreement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AECO.digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to procurement decisions, E&O claims, or regulatory findings. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the subscription fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

10. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
